It is much more likely something else. Fuel injectors don't cut out under load, they just stay open longer. I'd be checking the spark plugs, ignition wires and fuel filter for starters.

I agree with rwenzing it doesnt sound like the injectors. Also if you go about changing the plugs, wires and such think about changing your fuel filter as well that should make a difference.

You can also think about using some fuel injector cleaner but replacing the injectors shouldn't be necessary. If they are working under low load conditions, then they are working.

thats kinda what i was thinking, but the truck just seems like it is shuting down a higher rpms and stuggles, i have replaced the plugs and wires no longer than 100 miles ago and have double checked them to ensure they were installed correct, but i am going to night to try that sea foam stuff, worth a shot. but after a fuel filter change i hope it runs alot better . thanks alot

its really wierd cause when it acts up it sound make a sound (similar to a belt ) but at the same time it starts cutting out and forcing the truck to jump, kinda like you were hitting and releasing the gas over and over again. and it only does it a 3k rpm or higher and only when its warmed up. i know it very wierd, hope you can help and sorry about the wording. thats why i was thinknig it was the injectors, but who knows, hope you can help or point me in another direction, thanks

The first thing that comes to mind would be water in the gas.Try a couple of cans of drygas in the tank.

I think this is a possibility and it is something that should be looked at right away. If the synchronizer fails completely, the oil pump would have no drive and then it's engine time.

the cam shaft thing, is that the same as a camshat position sensor, if so i changed that back when it first started acting up. and the idiot light in the cab went away but the problem still exist. if it not the same then least i have got a direction to head towards now

The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) is mounted on top of the Synchronizer which is just a gear drive to get the CMP out in the open where it is serviceable. The Synchronizer fits into the hole where the ignition distributor would have been in an older version of the engine.

The problem is that the shaft inside the housing starts to wear and squeak as the engine miles go up. It can sieze and/or the gear driven from the cam can fail, taking the oil pump drive with it.

I believe that the CMP is available separately from Ford but some aftermarket kits include the entire assembly. If your truck has a lot of miles and the Synchronizer is original, it could be your problem.

That sounds like a bad thing to me but I don't know that it would cause the symtoms. Check for side play between the shaft and bore of the Synchronizer. The gear damage may be the result rather than a cause. In any case, I wouldn't run that engine any more with the bad gear.

The Synchronizer is timed to the camshaft similar to the way that a traditional distributor would be timed. You'll need to get the timing right whether you reinstall that one or replace it new.

yeah i cleaned it up and noticed that therre is a little play side to side and a little more up and down, so i think i am going to replace it and i hope getting it back in right is not a huge deal , i took and made marks and noticed where every thing was before i removed it.

Even if it turns out that this is not the whole problem, it definitely needed attention. A failure there could have cost you your engine - it has happened before.
