Interesting observation

Since I went from 245/75/16 tires to my current 32x11.5x15's it seems as though my truck has more power and is getting the same if not slightly better mpg. I found that to be odds because I expected it to go the other way. I do have a programmer, but I had it before with the old tire set up. Anyone else that did that swap notice the same thing? It's not a drastic change or anything, but is noticeable.

So the power is still good with a 3.0 and 32's. I ve been thinking of getting 32's, but am worried that I will lose a lot of power.

its common to see a slight not a major increase in mpgs on the highway with bigger wheels and tires.

and if Im right... Idk correct me if Im not but with your new tire and wheel size it should bring your final gear ratio down to 3.75s or 3.55's that is if you have the 4.10s... which will result in slightly better mpgs

Yeah I'm running 4.10s. My truck overall just seems much smoother with the new tires. So far 90% of my driving is in city and is usually my commute to work which is 6mile round trip.

I went from stock 225/70/r15 to 30's, and with my 3.55 gears I lost a bit of the "pick-up and go", but I can burn rubber (if I wanted to, but tires are too expensive to do that all the time), and the best part is, I got 22MPG on my last road trip, all highway, cruise locked in at 62 mph.

4.0 FTW!!!! 3.55 gears = "Time to take over the world"!!!

My mileage stayed the same and I didn't notice any more power. I did notice less power from a stop though. I miss the get up and go a lot.

You need to upgrade to 4.10's Mike. It will get you that power back without hurting your mileage. That and a programmer does wonders!

Man Trent if I still had the fleetside our trucks would seriously be like lost long brothers haha.

Polished looks good on everything IMO. But red and black looks good too, I think with the chrome lip it would look great.

If your not fussy like me then get the polished aluminum, but you gotta keep em clean to keep em nice lookin, if i had my time back i would have gotten black with a lip, or possibly chrome plated aluminum.

Yeah that's the only complaint I have with polished. That's why I plan on getting them powder coated eventually lol.

I like the classic IIs.... but I have an all red truck, the only chrome I have is my tips and my antenna... I like the look of black on red but I dont think I have enough black to really go with the black rims... a lot of guys here in town have polished aluminum wheels, actually all the "hopped" up trucks have polished wheels... Id like something different but I can settle for polished... if I had an older ranger with the black fender flares I wouldnt have to worry about this. But I will be getting blacked out head and corner lights if that helps any...

and wannabe you are making it hard on me cause every time I see your avatar on here it makes me want those black rims lol

sorry for the hijack again

Get the black. You dont need a tun of black to tie it all in. If you have tinted windows that's plenty.

Sonic04Edge, did you have to crank the T-bars at all or were your tires a straight bolt on install? I'm looking at doing the same tire size and was curious.

Yea, I loved 4.10's and 33's, now I have the 4.88's and I'm way over geared...hopefully 37's will clear that up.

Do you think it would be bad with 3.73 gears?
