Top 5 power mods.

I need to regain some of the power that the truck had before I put the wheels on,(which wasnt much but I still need it back) and hopefully gain a little more. So, what are the top 5 things that I can do to gain power. And, if you so happen to know the prices that would be great.

on my 4.0 4x4 i went to the track and ran a 16.3 stock. After installing 33's and then installing underdrive pulley, catback, K&N intake- I went to the track and ran a 16.3. Those 3 basically brought me back to even with no regearing. I since added an e-fan and tuner so i should be slightly ahead.

On the 3.0, Maurice pretty much nailed it. My buddy here ran a 16 flat in his 3.0 single cab (who said the 3.0's were dogs? he beat my stock times on the 4.0). he has K&N intake, roller rockers, 3 piece underdrive pulley, muffler. he left the tuner at home. It was on the mileage program. he would've hit 15.xx if he had brought it.

Would a high flow air filter give similar results to a full intake? I'm getting the pullies next month and maybe an amsoil.

TB how to above.

pulley-you should gain 8+ hp 11+ torque. On the mileage, it seems to be a solid 1 or more based on my trucks. Say you get 17s, sometimes 18 mpg depending on driving. After the pulley it turned into 19 always. If that makes sense.

On that throttle body, someone flow tested the maf sensor and throttle body on a ranger 3.0. It turned out the throttle body was a bigger restriction on the plumbing than the maf. it's been a while but it has stuck in my head.

2-3 hours and some specialty tools required. the tools can be borrowed from a parts store. Here's a write up:

http://stuffforyourranger.com/How_To...nderdrive.html

the hardest part is breaking the nut loose. It's tuff. If you have a manual you can put it in gear to keep it from turning.

Depends.... There was a guy on RPS that did it and said he didn't gain much, but it moved his torque curve lower in the RPM's and made the curve flatter if I remember correctly....
