How to improve the 3.0?

I am doing a 5.5 fabtech and a 3' Bodylift and have heard from time to time that the 3.0 has a hard time with this i am looking to put anywhere from 32-35' tires. Is there anything i can do to improve my 3.0 to make it run the same with the lift??

I never had a problem with my 3.0, but you are gonna wanna regear to 4.10's if you get 33's or 4.56's with the 35's. I had an intake, exhaust, programmer and the maf mod done and i was getting 18 mpg in city, but i seem to be the freak exception.

Well, from my research, there isn't very much to do to the 3.0. I believe Bamachip's has a programmer out for it, which is awesome. If you want it to drive, accelerate, etc like stock, perhaps you could regear it? With 35" tires, I would suggest a 4.56 ratio. If you have the 7.5" axle, which I think all 3.0L Rangers have, thats the lowest gear you can put in them, I think.

start with intake and exhaust, then get the bamachip like they said. Regearing is a must!
whipples expensive yes but so worth it.

you should consider a locker too if you plan to do any kind of wheeling

The amount of lift has NOTHING to do with the motor. It's the tire size that you run. Just regear to 4.56/35's and 4.10/33's.

If you really wanna dive into the engine, Camcraft makes high performance cams for the 3.0, with different ratings depending on how much performance you want.

intake and exhaust wont do much for the 3.0, i would get the tuner first, about $400, and definately a regear.

a tuner would probably be your best bet, or a supercharger, but tuner is cheaper.

For descent Perfarmance, An intake, MAF mod, dual/single exhaust and a tuner (Xcal 2). A Whipple is a must but so far i've heard problems on them. I'm sure that'll get solved.
