94 ford ranger problem

my 94 ford ranger is a manual tranning and the check engine light comes on when the rpm is between 1-2 and 3-4 but gose off between 2-3 why wold it do this cant smog it tell i find out neather so please help

did you run a diagnostic on the obd to see if it stored the code?
