Overheating issue

Hey guys my ranger is driving me nuts with a over heating issue,it has a newer water pump on it,i just change the thermostat out and replaced it with a new stocker,i got rid of my a/c for space and weight and found that my rad was gunk and clogged up with mud so i sprayed it all out with the hose. Only other thing i did was install my sport trac cluster which i dont think the gauge is wrong. Anybody have any input of this???

Did you install the thermostat spring side facing the engine?

When does it overheat the most ? When on the highway , idleing , towing ?
When you changed the thermostat , did you think to look at the inside of the radiator hose for any cracks , tears , or separations.A piece of rubber can come loose inside the hose and cause restriction.
Does the fan clutch spin easily or does it take some effort to turn it ? If you can spin it with two fingers and it keeps turn for a second or two you need a new one.
