rear differential change

rear differential change

do i need a gasket/rubber seal or can RTV do just fine? Went out and bought a gasket/seal for the rear diff and completely forgot about using RTV.

I just used RTV on my old truck, the first time, but the second time I serviced it I used a gasket and a very thin coat of RTV on both sides of it..

I think several people here use RVT on a regular basis

I forgot about it when I got home but I have the gasket now ani might as well use it. Anyone use a gasket b4 or should I just return it. I got the rvt on the self in the garage.
