Engine Swap

Well you didn't give much of a description on your truck.
What size V6, 3.0 or 4.0
Auto or manual
4x4 or 4x2
As far as swapping a "Mustang Motor", it would depend what motor you want to swap. The old 3.8L is less HP than the 4.0, the 05-10 4.0 is the same engine as the Ranger 01+ 4.0. If you mean a 4.6L then good luck it's a long block and it will be difficult to fit. If you have a 3.0 the 5.0 swap is fairly common swap. You could also supercharge the 4.0 is you wanted. Lots of options. As far as a tune up goes that probably a good idea anyway since it's a decade old vehicle.
Most guys on here that run V8s use the 5.0 out of pre-02 Explorers. As you would imagine lots of aftermarket support and they can easily run 300hp with just mild parts.
