Starter Relay

Starter Relay

The starter relay is making noise when i turn the key over any options?

what he wants to know is his brothers 94 2wd ranger is not starting. he bought a new sol. because he broke the other one. and now the truck does not start. i cant help him out because he lives a distance from me. i think that the sol is wired wrong. if anyone can send me a wiring diagram of it that would be great. thanx

Quick and dirty, since no one else is helping....

Bat+ to big solenoid post (put all the "other" terminals on this post too)

the remaining big solenoid post should ONLY have the cable that goes to the starter connected to it.

The small studs get one terminal each, not sure if polarity even matters. If it is set up as described above and still won't work, swap the two little terminals around. Now that I think about it, that coil may have a snubber, so polarity MAY matter.
