Haul Away
Hi danger, you'll have no problems towing with the 3.0 as long as you dont try like a moron. I've towed a 10 ft camper, a 16 ft aluminum boat, and a 12 ft utillty trailer at different times wth my 3.0 litre. Tha being said i also have a tranny cooler and a automatic transmission. if you re driving a stick watch the clutch slippage when you start out. Theres a pic of my truck and boat after loading up afte a semi succesful day on the river. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3087077

Check the fourth digit in your VIN, then go to this page to see what Ford rates your vehicle's GVWR. http://www.lmctruck.com/ICATALOG/FR/full.aspx?Page=9

I have towed a 16ft all-weld aluminum boat with a 25hp motor on the back, 2 large coolers full of ice, food, and drinks, 2 large tints, 10 medium-large logs of firewood, some chairs, fishing gear, and 15gals of fuel. I was also caring 3 other people with me in the truck...... what does all that add up to? lol
How ever much all that weighed, my truck pulled it fine. I have a 98 3.0 auto, 4.10 gears, and a limited slip rear end.
Ohh and that was pulled on the bumper. That was kinda scary, the ball was bent down a little to start with but after that it was bent a little more.
