Icon5 What is this and is is important?

Well I was changing my oil yesterday and my buddy happened to notice that this hose is cut and I was wondering if someone knew what it is and if its important? It is coming off of the intake hose. Also if someone has a part number that would be cool too.

Sorry for the cell pics. The little hose in the middle you can faintly see the cut.

Does the truck run properly? Check engine light? I would imagine a cut hose is not good

put it back together and wrap it a couple times with some duct tape until you get a replacement you dont want crap getting in there

or just run a piece of vacuum/fuel line between the nipple on the valve cover and the nipple on the air intake, or sleeve it where it is broken with a piece of line
