What size tires ?

Hey, I'm new to the forums and I was just wondering what size tires I could put on my 1994 Ford Ranger 4x4 3.0L. I really want 33's but i've heard my transmission could possibly go. I think the gears I have now are 3.73. I'm not quite sure. I am also planning on doing a 3 inch body lift. Anyone care to help? I've looked around the forums but I haven't found anything involving a 1994 3.0. Thanks.

well u need to make a sig with ur vehicle stats go to user cp in the upper right hand corner and make a signature like u see i have. I cant really tell u what size tires cuz i dont know what truck u have. a 2wd xlt and a 4x4 edge can fit diff. size tires make a sig and post up exact stats of ur truck. in almost all cases u will need a 3 in. body lift b4 putting 33's on. they are perfect with the 3" b/l. and the tranny thing is bs

With the 3 inch Bl the 33's would fit fine, and you would be able to move them with the 3.0L, I can think of a few people that run that setup and dont remember many tranny problems, I think you would be fine, but regearing would make it easier on your truck..

3.73 wont hurt u'll be slow but its a 3.slow what do u expect its not gonna hurt the tranny tho just slow u down a bit. u could regear to 4:10 and it would be perfect and u wouldn't loose much on mileage.

Dangerranger, is it a BIG difference ? or is it a little difference speed and power wise? I won't be doing any serious or if any offroading i just like the look of a 33in. mud terrain tire.

I think you will be happier with the BL and 33's, its going to slow you down but you will get the look you want and when you can you should get the 4:10 gears. But if you want the 33's you wont be satisfied with 31's..!

Yeah i am really starting to like the looks of the 31's now.. not too big but not too small it gives it an agressive look. But i had a question, a guy at the tire place said that if i decided to put on a different size rim (16) that it could mess up computer stuff. Is this correct?
