Transmission noises

I have a 2008 Ranger XLT with the 4.0l and the 5r44E automatic transmission, and i recently replaced the torque converter and did a fluid flush on it, and didnt hear any weird noises before the procedure, however afterwards i am now hearing a kind of scraping sound. The closest to the sound i was able to find on the internet so far was a guy that had the starter gear on angled and it caused the flexplate to be moved or something. The first time that i reinstalled the torque converter and started the truck, i only added 5 quarts of atf to it, and the sound was pretty loud, however the second time i did it, i dumped out about half of the fluid out and didnt add anymore to it when i went to start it, and the sound was significantly louder, could this noise be caused by simply low fluid or is it maybe something worse?
