Need input.
Well truck hit 145,000 mles and both heads decided to crack. Truck ran fine when I took heads off just burned a little bit of antifreeze. So now what to do? Do I spend the money and overhaul my 4.0l. My family owns a Auto parts store/ machine shop so Labor is free and parts I get cost on. Or do I look for an explorer and do a 5.0l swap. Does anyone have any good links to performance parts for 4.0l at a decent price?

Performance isn't cheap. Here are some sites:

Josh it was Morana i was thinking of this:
Heavy Duty Cylinder Heads
Application: 4.0L OHV engines only
1990-2000
Brand new heavy duty cylinder heads. The intake and exhaust runners can be ported much larger than the original heads.
As is(stock, bare, small or large chamber) $480.00 per set
Porting, over-sized stainless steel valves, heavy duty springs, retainers, locks available- Inquire for pricing.
Stage #1: heads are total rebuilt (with all hardware installed incl. 3 angle valve job) plus match ported and lightly polished around the intake/exhaust ports. $400.00 US.
thats what i was looking to get and the cam from them also

Well got one head pinned and leaks is gone. Put it in the oven to bake the **** outta it and going to sandblast tomorrow, resurface, grind the seats, grind the valves and pressure check to make sure leak is gone. Then if all goes well the other head will be pinned and a valve job will be done. Lower intake, accesorie brackets, bolts and everything else metal or aluminum is off to the powdercoater. Tomorrow I hope to get the block out and into the acid tank for a nice bath. Then the pistons, oil pan, oil filter relocator will be degreased and media blasted. Hopefully the truck will be back on the road by next weekend if I get time to work on it and heads turn out good.

It actualy is fun to me. I grew up/am growing up doing this. My family owns a full on engine machine shop and auto parts store so this is what we do for a living. I have all the machines at my ready so its real cheap to, thats why I chose t fix my 4.0 instead of going 5.0. Plus I get all gaskets and parts at cost so its a cheap rebuild.

Overhaul the 4.0L. Do a mild port on the heads, balance the bottom end, get a set of cams w/matching springs, and a tune to match.
Then.. as you have time and money go find a 5.0L setup. That way you'll have your truck running, can sell the 4.0L for some cash, and you won't have to scramble to get the 5.0L in and running.
