if you have a thick black substance on your plugs, then you have a bad piston ring......that is oil build up and the only way for it to get there is past the piston rings....I dont know how much it cost to replace them, but it is a bear because you almost have to tear the engine completely down.....if you do it, just go a head and rebuild it, then drive it another 100,000 + miles.....

got to be kidding..........i might just sell the truck, i don't know if it's worth fooling with anymore? i mean the leads and all were clean just oil around the thread. I do burn oil and smell it when i start up, and after wards its fine. My truck runs like theres nothing wrong with it.

if you are burning oil for sure, then that is your problem...your piston rings are shot.....go get yourself that donor 5.0 explorer and do a complete swap....

I would do that in a heart beat man. I was thinking about it, but i drive 50 miles a day. 50,000miles in 2 years. I almost need a car for the dd and the truck for fun, granted if i bought your truck, it prob be a street queen.

i highly doubt it....if you had a bad torque converter, then the truck would not move in any gear.......

if your truck is shoooting codes out, then take it to your local AutoZone and let them....it is free at AutoZone......Ford would prolly charge anywere from $70-$130 to tell you what is wrong with it....

if your check engine light is on, then it is shooting codes........if it is not on then you are not shooting codes.......yea ford can usually hook it up to their machine and figure out what is wrong with it, but it is expensive......
