1998 4.0 replacement
Hi, Im a pride owner of a 1998 4.0 Extreme. I lost my engine.. not easy to find around here. Could I use a 2002 Explorer engine as a drop in replacement.. I dont want to change anything on it.

They are different motors. You should have a 4.0 OHV and the 02 explorer has a 4.0 SOHC. Not a direct replacement but can be done.

yup yup thats me go ahead and do it man ill help with ?'s if you want. it pretty much is a direct replacement except for some wiring like the pats system and such.

Thanks for all your help. found a direct replacement im working on it. will get back if i have any problems.
