2000 ford ranger rough take off/idle

So i'm new to this forum and bare with me because this has probably been answered but I am in need of some specifics. I have a 2000 ford ranger 4.0l 4x4 with 91k miles(really low) just bought it about a month ago and before taking it on my trip(I drive back and forth to Wyoming for work) I changed the oil cleaned the air intake and filter, and about a week ago got MAF sensor, and fuel filter changed at pep boys, haven't drove it more than 3o miles since than and just today it started acting up. It barely goes from a dead stop, revs up a little than down putters and makes some slight knocking before it goes. Has horrible throttle response and no ***** at all to go. It didn't happen until after I got off the freeway. Now I checked oil, coolant, tran fluid and all. Even after 3k miles from the last oil change it's still golden, not losing any, coolant is full, temp gauge works, no white smoke or smoke at all and I just got it smogged about a month ago after buying it and passed. When I took it too pep boys I originally just got a diagnosis because the engine light came on. After they swapped the MAF and fuel filter it went off, and the light came back on again when today it was running rough on my way home. Any related problems? fixes? what to look for? thanks for any help, I would hate to have to drop 1000's into it when the truck itself was only bought for 5k. If the fixes are brutal id rather just sell and buy a cheapo car. I originally got the truck thinking it would do better on gas than my hemi. Not so much..foolish me need help with this truck..

Pull the throttle body off & clean it take a old tooth brush and get some throttle body cleaner spray cry brand open the throttle up & clean That gunk build up you said you cleaned the air intake tube, also clean the iac valve solenoid that gunk will cause poor engine idling, as far the no ***** issue get a top end fuel injection cleaning service at Firestone it costs about $100.00. Does it have stock plugs? Upgrade to Bosch double platinum. If that engine light diagnosis is a misfire get some Bosch premium plug wires, you either have dirty injectors, a dirty throttle body, a fuel pressure regulator on the brink of going bad.

going to take it all apart and clean it today after I get my money back from pep boys. Just looked up the part the swapped out with my old MAF sensor and it's not even ford oem like they said, some cheapo refurb. Thanks again, will let you know how that all goes.
