I dropped oil pan there was numerous hard pieces of black plastic chunks in bottom of oil pan. This is the first thing I checked I inherited a 2003 ford ranger xlt 4.0 v6 it starts but sounds real rough and it has no power.Any ideas and do I have to remove engine to check oil pump?

Sounds like the engine needs new timing chain cassettes. The black plastic chunks are probably the wear guides for the timing chain tensioning system. The sound is probably the chains rattling and the loss of power is probably due to the cam timing being off.
The low oil pressure could be the plastic debris clogging the oil pickup screen but could be a bad oil pump also.
