4.0 bolt patterns

I just bought a 1994 ranger yesterday with the 4.0 and a 5 speed. The engine is blown but I have another one with an automatic transmission from a newer ranger. Does anyone know if the engine with the automatic will bolt up to the 5 speed before I pull the blown one out the truck?

Ford 4.0l OHV engine(1990-2000) and 4.0l SOHC(2001-2012) have the same bell housing bolt pattern, but not the same computer or wiring.
No other Ranger engine, from 1994 and up, would match 4.0l OHV pattern.

Transmission, manual or automatic, matches engine pattern so won't matter.
Flywheel needed for manual trans does matter.
'94 4.0l has 6 bolt flywheel pattern, '97 and up 4.0l has 8 bolt pattern, so if the newer 4.0l engine is '97 or later you will also need to get a flywheel for it.
