Water pump replacement help!!!

How the heck do you get this darn fan unscrewed from the pump. Turn left, turn right, or light the truck on fire and start over.
Sincerely,
-frustrated out of my mind and tired of screwing with this thing or just pressed for time and am forgetting what the heck I'm doing.

From my experience (which isn't honestly saying much) Fans are normally reverse thread. You should have to turn it *right to turn it off.

The weird thing is the replacement part from motorcraft is normal thread..righty tighty. Either way I'm breaking tools and none of my local auto parts stores have any magical tool to help me out, infact the local ford dealers mech. said and I'm quoting " I don't know what to tell you sorry man"

Update. It turns to the left. Took three of us to bust it loose so now I'm on my way. I guess I forgot to mention the truck is an '02 4.0.

I saw in your sig what the truck was. I haven't done anything on a 4.0 haha. Guess I wasn't much help.

It's all good man, I appreciate the attempt none the less. I was having a real hard time getting that bugger off so I was losing my cool about it, got flustered, and probably did more harm than good in the long run. Thanks for the reply.
