I was curious if I could grab some cats off a 4.0 and weld them onto my 3.0. Not sure if they are the same or not and if they will work. Has anyone tried this? Thanks in advance.

 

The Y pipe is different...but the last cat pipe should be the same(between the Y-pipe and the muffler). Can't do 04 or 05+ though...exhaust system up front are completely different compared to an '01.


What's the purpose of this?

 

Well I need to replace the OEM cats on my 3.0 that are in the front (all 3 on the y pipe). I can probably get some OEMs from a 2001 4.0 but I want to make sure it will work on my 2001 3.0. Let me know if I can do this. Thanks.

 

3 in the Ypipe? No dice. 2001 4.0's have two in the Ypipe...and the Ypipes are different anyhow.
