Running weird

Sup guys. I have a '94 splash. 4.0 5 spd. I get this strong smell of gas. Terrible gas mileage and low power. I've cleaned all sensors and replaced plugs, wires and coil. I got improvement from the tune up but it's still not 100%. Haven't reset the computer yet, since I never have the time. Also I feel like it goes into limp mode if it's hot outside if I go reasonably far. Looking for some guidance cuz I'm a complete noob. Thanks for any help guys!

On the fuel rail find the Fuel Pressure regulator(FPR), on 4.0l should be front passenger side of engine.
It will have a fuel line and vacuum line connected, remove this vacuum line and check it for fuel or fuel smell, if fuel is there replace FPR, it's diaphragm is leaking and raw fuel is being sucked into intake when engine is running, and you would smell fuel when engine is off.

How many miles on the vehicle?
O2 sensors are good for about 100k, they wear out like spark plugs do, but it wouldn't be a sudden change, as they wear out engine will run richer.

I guess it's 155k. Odometer doesn't go into 100k's. So fuel pressure regulator is your bet? Thanks man. I'll check it out.

This is my first ford. CEL isn't on when running. But is on when key is turned forward.

The CEL and various other lights will either turn on and turn off, or stay on, when the key is put in the ON position. This is to allow the driver to make the sure these lamps/fuses/systems are working, so that you don't "drive blind" to any problems.
