Noise on throttle

my 95 OHV its not a problem but wondering why it does it, if your on the throttle sittin still ya don't hear it but your going down the road and your on the throttle you can hear a noise kinda hard to explain, once you let off the throttle it isn't there so I'm assuming its in the intake, I tried to remove the air filter thinking it could be something that simple and drove short distance not even a mile and with no air filter noise was still there, anyone else have had this? If so was there a fix or is that just common on the 95 OHV the 96 doesn't do it and neither have any of my OHV's before. Thanks. and to note it seems to have great power, you floor it and get up to speed quick, I plan on changing the plugs and wires over the weekend possibly, but have my doubts that has anything to do with it.

You really need to try and describe the noise better.

Does it do it under all loads? Like sitting still power braking.. or first geat.. 2nd.. ect.

It does it in any gears, if your sitting still it isn't there it only happens when you start at prob. 15-20mph the sound reminds me of the sound of a wheel bearing rubbing but not as deep in sound, when you let off the gas its gone but as soon as you start even the slightes as long as your goin 15 or more its there. Like I said power and everything is great with it, just curious as to what that noise is and why it's there. It has 189k miles on it but has as much power as my 96 which has 136k on it. Thats why I'm assuming its somewhere in the intake, kind of afraid of hurting the motor but ya think it'd be safe to take it for a short 1 min. ride with the whole intake disconnected from the throttle body? Just to see if the noise still exists there.

Ok, I was told and looked up and looks like it could be the IAC just has dirt in it and is making it do this.

I think i have the same problem on my 01 ranger.
It only happens when im accelerating when it gets to a higher rpm, but when I back off the throttle it goes away. I was thinking it has something to do with the transmission.
It sounds exactly like my 73 Scout when the chain in the t-case is rubbing.
(Oh yeah, my ranger is a 4.0, auto, 2wd if that helps)

Well I tried cleaning my IAC with electronics cleaner and a QTip and it helped quiet the noise some but its still there, so I guess if I want to get rid of it completely I'm going to have to buy a new IAC. If your having what I had, try cleaning that first it don't take long there is only two bolts holding it on and an electrical wire. Just becareful if ya do this not to leave QTip residue in it (cotton).

I have the same problem. Mine sounds like a gargling noise, that's how I'd describe it but my truck does the same thing as yours just like you said.. Wish I could help but I'm interested to see what you find out.

yeah, it isn't too fun working on a motor in pouring rain even if it is just a couple bolts.

yea lol, I don't like getting rid of anything that deals with vehicles because I'm afraid of that happening that I'll want it or need it for a rainy day whether its literally a rainy day or just a day. lol

its most likely the IAC. i had the same problem on my 93 exploder. same motor too. try taking it off and spraying carb cleaner in the holes until the liquid comes out clear. let it dry good! put it back on. the noise should go away.

my truck just makes a slight howling/whistling noise that only 2 other people have been able to hear in my truck. I usually hear it around 45-60 and steady throttle, and a little increase of gas will make it "squeal" for a second then go away, and backing off stops it as well.

The method of just spraying a cleaner in there don't always necessarily work, I did that, then I took a qtip and rubbed it in there on the sensor and got dark black grime out of it. So just spraying probably won't get much of it out.
