I am also curious about 4.0 performance parts. If I decide to swap in a 4.0 I am defiantly going to have it built to push into the 250-300hp range to be competitive with the current Tacoma, Colorado, and Frontier numbers.

Since 05-10 Mustangs came with 4.0s I would assume there is some places that cater to them.

Google gave me this:
http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/

Maybe I will send it up to these guys before I drop it in lol

Why not go with a 5.0 then? Lots more room for upgrades

our trucks have diffrent cams than the stang 4.0L. the ranger 4L has the power down low for "towing" and the stang has the higher revs for top end

Off there website:

3.8L V6 Mustang T-Bird SuperCoupe
4.0L SOHC V6 Mustang Ranger
Class 7 V6 desert racing engines
4.2L V6 F-150
4.0L OHV V6 Ranger
GM3800 Camaro and Firebird
I'm sure they make cams that would cater to low end torque.

Don't really need or want a V8 Ranger. I want twin sticks also so I would have to run a M5OD-R2 from a old F-150 which has the same slave issues that the R1 has and has a weak aluminum case that can't handle a built 5.0. Plus the R2 wasn't built to run on such a small vehicle so the linkages and shifters are in the wrong position. Plus since I am regular cab 6ft bed I can't fit a BW4406M so I would have to run the BW1354M on a 300+hp V8, no thanks.

I did A TON of research and talked to Bob about it at length and pretty much decided I would be better off just running a mildly build 4.0 with factory style twin sticks.

I'm really curious to see what I can get out of my 4.0 SOHC too. The 207 HP is nice, but I'd like to get atleast 225 HP out of it to match the power of a 5.0 I'm thinking about porting and polishing the heads and installing a Mustang cam.
Does anyone know what that would get me?
