Swapping Blown Up Engine for A "newish" one
How hard Is it to swap my 2005 Ford Ranger 4.0l V6 With another 4.0l v6 but one with 52k miles. Is it worth it? I can get the engine for 600 bucks instead of me having to rip my current engine apart and trying to fix it. :/ do I need to do or buy anything special other then just the engine? Like a new computer or something.

Alright cool! That makes it so much easier then fixing it. I just photograph everything I disconnect mark wires and what not and then drop the new motor in hook it up and do the seafoam treatment and all that jazz and I should be good to go. I'll probably end up tearing down the old motor to see what exactly happened. lol

YUP...you're good with 01-06, but I'd keep it 04-06. It'll all be plug and play. You MIGHT need to swap your existing harness onto your new engine.
BUT....I know mines an 01 and my new engines an 06, but some of the sensors are a little different, the injector pigtails are different, the DPFE is different, the MAF is different.....all these items you SHOULDNT have to deal with, but I had to in my swap. So be prepared, some sensors and pigtails are different.
You shouldn't need a new PCM if youre using the same harness as before and the same type engine as before....you're just changing the engine, not converting from auto to manual or vice versa.
