Need Help Bad!

My key wont work in my lock cylinder. I can get the key in about 3/4 of the way into the cylinder, and than it feels like it is being stopped by something solid. I have ordered a new lock cylinder, but as far as i know, the one thats in my truck right now can only be removed by having the key into the run position. Unfortunately for me, i can't get my key in to turn it.

Does anyone know what i can do to fix this??
I really need my truck for work and want to get it done asap!

Thank you for your help.

Either that, or one of the tumblers sheared off and dropped. Ford has had a problem with the focus and the escape doing that. I'll check with our locksmith and see if I can get a better answer for you
