Have you visted RoguePerformance.com and contacted Fred? His datalogging for tunes is pretty reasonable. I find his site confusing, but write him and ask him about it.

You may have MAF and other system variations that keep the variations from being effective.

Could also be that SCT erred on your tune? I'd contact them and complain and see what they do for you before you do anything else.

I think a datalogged tune is probably the "best" custom tune. Is this one of those, or did you simply give them the specs of your vehicles mods?

Get with doug and see what he can do. If there is a problem he should be able to diagnose it and fix it.

One thing a data log does is point out problems. I know of more than one log where fred came back and told the guy to change his 02 sensor. Then BAM- the guys were happy with the gains.

You can data log it with a laptop that has internet access. All the downloads are on the SCT site. You would have to contact doug on any charges. Rogue does it for a token $25 if you buy the x cal II from him and he likes to get it done quickly. you send in the data, he interprets it, lets you know of any problems (replace 02 sensor, etc). Once the problems have been corrected you get a final data log and he makes a custom tune specifically for your truck.

No you didn't do a thing. I just think I hurt Doug's feelings. Not my intention. I think I have it straightened out though.

Wow, I thought I was the only one. I noticed ZERO change with my bama. Actually when I loaded the bama my truck would stutter around and wouldnt shift. Setting it back to stock & re-installing the bama tune again fixed that. I still notice absolutely positively no change. Bad purchase IMHO.

Mine revs to about 2500 rpm on cold starts and hangs there for a second or so then knocks down to about 2000 for quite a while, then 1500 for even longer, and then settles into an idle above the 854 where it is set. It does not idle where it is set until I drive it a little. Wierd.

Hey guys,

If you ever have a problem with my tunes the best thing to do is contact me FIRST. I will work with you until we get this to you likings or if just can't then I will give you your money back, no questions asked.

The one major thing is a ranger is a ranger, not a Mustang or a F150. The F150's can pickup 35rwhp with a tune alone, a Ranger will never do that. Nor will it pickup as much a Supercharged anything. I also make alot of enahancements over the base SCT canned tune which make it drive much better but maynot be what you like. If you want more you can always request this. This is why I include a USB cable for free with everytuner I sell so if you want updates in the future you have my FULL support.

If you're not a happy Bama customer then let me know, if you dont wanna work it out then I dont want you to have to pay for it. I've been tuning Ranger's longer then anyone out there and I have an excellent reputation for it, I plan on keeping it so what ever I need to do I'm here for you.

Thanks, Doug.

Thanks, Doug.
I have the only cable that came with it and thats the one that plugs into the OBD2 port on my truck. So I guess I will have to buy another programer.

Thanks for the help,
Roach

Hey Doug,

I actually did email you about it a few months ago; my computer has been down so I never followed up.

I believe you are a great guy with a good business going, but I sincerely believe the SCT Tuner I received has a defect. I’ve owned the tuner for a few months now and I’ve been playing with the various tunes vs. stock tune. There are moments where after loading the tune my truck drives funny until I remove the tune and re-install it (or leave it as stock), which leads me to believe that there may be something corrupt in the hardware or the tune itself.

I have read nothing but positive comments about yourself as an individual and your business products. I believe the product I received is a fluke. If possible, I would like to exchange my SCT Tuner. Since I’m unsure if the tune is the problem or the SCT device/cable is the problem; for piece of mind, I would like an entirely new SCT device, not just new tunes.

Since I never experienced any positive change with this device, and a few times causing my truck to be nearly undrivable, I have kept the paper work along with all the original packaging. I would greatly appreciate it if we could work something out.

Also, I own a laptop so if you would like me to do any data logging simply guide me in the right direction and consider it done. This is NOT a problem for me to do, if it helps modify the tune so it better suits my truck I would gladly do this.

tommy, I would suggest contacting Doug directly at bamachips.com again. He responded to a message I just sent him promptly.
