im intalling my new volant cold air intake but i cant figure out how take out the rest of the housing! its stock not aftermarket. i took off the air filer an the top part of the housing but cant take off the bottom. this is bugging the crap outta me!!

 

Last I remember, You simply grab it tightly and pull up. If I remember again, it's held in with rubber gromets.

 

Like your life depended on it.

 

make sure your braced for when it pops i smacked my knuckles a good one when my hand slipped off

Yeah, when I had to do mine, I was actually thinking ahead and put a nice thick pair of leather work glove son before I gave it the almighty HEAVE HO! and popped it out, sucker is in there nice and good.. its nice to use some WD40 for about 10 minutes prior to soften the grommets up and get any sticky grime out form between them =)
