Like that feller said about white smoke...Well every morning i start my truck i have a missfire for about 10 sec or so...then the other cyl will catch...Also sometimes i have white smokem when i start up, could be cuz its the morning too??? Spark plugs was changed a few months back and gapped correct..
any diagnose?? guess i need to do a compression test..answered my own ques

Sounds like the way my '99 4.0 has been doing.... started missing last winter, replaced plugs and wires (with motorcraft)... #3 plug had a broken ceramic in the core of the plug at that time (looked like original plugs), it ran fine until a month ago, started the missing a few seconds when it is started, pulled the plug, replaced it, all was well until this week and it is missing for a few seconds when starting. Hasn't set a code yet, but has always been misfire cylinder #3 the previous two times. Not using a drop of coolant or oil, plug looks sort of reddish brown on the insulator inside the tip is all I can see. Can the coil pack go bad on just one cylinder? I used the SP500 Motorcraft plugs and premium Motorcraft wires.
