Lets talk exhaust systems!!!
Catback Information!
Please note: That this is a work and progress and will be updated, as i find more information on each setup! Feel free to comment anything you see wrong or anything you think should be added to this guide!
After seeing atleast 2 weekly threads asking about which exhaust choice to go with, i thought this might be a nice addition!
Also if anyone could submit videos to me of these different exhaust's and specify what engine they are on it would be very much appreciated!
The Scoop:
Flowmaster : Very popular choice here! It has a a good sound to it. Not Extrmely loud but you can hear it. It is deffintley a good choice if your looking for somthing on a budget, they usually are pretty cheap. The flowmaster is not stainless though and will rust, so probably not a good choice for people like myself in the rust belt!!
Magnaflow : This is the kit that i had/have on my 99. I loved the sound of this kit, has a nice deep tone to it, while not being very loud. With the windows up you couldnt really hear it while cruising, which was a huge plus too me! This kit is Stainless Steel and i had not problems of rusting out or anything! Even going through a few winters here in ohio. This here is another popular kit, but be warned it is a little more pricey than the rest, but you know what they say, you get what you pay for.
Gibson : Once again a very quality kit! Although i was not very impressed with the sound of this. Mind you that is a personal opinion, but it wasnt very loud at all. It had a decent tone. I just wasnt impressed for the price of the kit. Although this kit is also stainless steel and very good quality!
JBA : I have only heard one of these, but i must say it was probably the most favorite that i had heard! It was a little louder than the rest, but not too loud. It also had a good tone, pretty deep. But i havent heard to much on the quality of these kits and have no personal experiance!
Dynomax : No expeirice on this kit, although ive heard a lot of people say they loved this kit, so hopefully someone else can fill this in!
Glasspack : A very cheap alternative to the above. BUT! do not expect very good sound quality. Unless your just look for loud and obnoxious i would steer away from this.
Also i would like to mention, that buying your muffler of choice, and exhaust tips (if wanted) and having a local shop weld it up for you is probably going to be the cheapest route and possibly save your self a good bit of cash!!!
