lol today the thing comes off. ive got a plan. not sure it'll work, but we'll see right? this is a good way to start a vacation from work.
so, ill keep you guys updated to see how bad you can actually mangle a filter and still be able to remove it. let this be a lesson....learn from my mistakes lol.

Im not sure why it has anything to do with the brand. I am just stating what my experiences have been. I accually changed 2 cars oil today that had Fram filters on there and one was stuck on there I had to break out the big guns to get it off, but the other was just real tight. I guess it may have something to do with how you put it on. Im sure there are some shops out there that use tools to tighten the filters on there but be sure that we dont (Kauffman Tire). We lube up all filters and install them hand tight with a little grunt.

The grip is nice but Fram filters are known to fail. Their internals will sometimes collapse and restrict oil flow. I use a filter with a smooth case and never have any problems taking it off by hand.
