chose an intake for me!

i will be getting some money soon and want an intake for my truck so which one, aem, k&n, volant....any others. what do you guys think, i like aem because there is no oil, but i like volant because there is a box around it, but i like k&n because of thier reputation. so if you would chime in and tell me what you guys think of thier performance?

I'd go with AEM brute force, I've had the k+n before and didn't really care for it since it's an oiled filter. The AEM is a dry filter, not sure about the mac don't know if it's a oiled filter or not.

I personally like volant products the best. From what I can tell they do the most homework before releasing a product. And thier price shows it too.

I would go with the K&N
and as for the oil, im sure someone else will chime in on this, the filters with oil filter better because they trap more debris and smaller particles, but still let more airflow through-this is just what ive heard

No not true. Oil / gauze filters filter worse. There is an equalizer though. And that is to buy a prefilter. Outerwears and K&N both sell them.

I've used one on the lightning and love it. I'll be adding one to my ranger/k&n pretty soon.

Does the pre-filter affect airflow? I like the high airflow of the K&N, but would like to filter out as much crap as possible without negating the positive affects of the cone filter.

Not to argue, just stating what a few people have told me
I was gonna buy a K&N wrap for my filter for this reason, at this time i was told that the wrap is for off roading because it does block a little airflow, but when offroading it takes up all the mud and dirt and not let it into the intake, but for normal driving it performs better without the wrap and still lets minimal particles through
once again just what i know from my experiance-havnt seen any tests to say other wise
