Are there any photos or illustrations on this website showing the Ranger parts like:
-exhaust systems, stock and various brands and what fits with a trailer tow package
-motors including internals and their part numbers including aftermarket
-special or rare Rangers built
-available Programmers and chips
-belt sizes and brands with part numbers
-stock timing advance vs aftermarket
In other words....A Resource Page.
I'm asking this because I'd like to do some proven mods to my Ranger. People will always say do a search, but.......just doing a search involves reading too many threads that turn into a pissing match.

I have a 2009 Ranger Sport Ext Cab with a 4L SOHC and 5spd auto. Today I'm at 500 miles on the truck and I can feel that Ford once again could use someone who can properly tune a transmission. Like my Mustang I know that the SCT Programmers can work wonders on Ford products. The upgrades that worked well on my 2000GT were the complete Magnaflow exhaust system but only after 3000rpm, more airflow, gears, supercharger (not on the Ranger), under drive pulleys, lightweight rims etc.
I'm interested in exhaust mods for this Ranger but not if it only benefits at higher rpms. Probably a good electric fan kit, under drive pulleys and a Programmer. Does anyone know if I purchase a Programmer will I have to have it re-adjusted if I install the exhaust and fan afterwards. Also, is the entire catback a restriction or only the muffler. Any help here will be appreciated. Thanx.

I just did the K&N filter plus airbox mod...the verdit is out cause it looks like it's there for a reason. My truck is 5 days old driven in the rain for 2 days and the silencer was quite dirty. I'd hate to suck that dirt up into a K&N filter. If I experience any problems I'll post them.
One time water went into my CAI when I was driving my Mustang in a bad rainstorm on the hwy....there was a few trucks behind me and when that water hit the MAF sensor my Stang bucked and stumbled real hard at 60mph. Probably the scarest thing I've ever experienced in that car. I blew the engine the next day. Again, I'll post my results with this mod after a bad rainstorm.

Do you have a K&N filter? I'm not a big believer in K&N so if any problems arise or if the MAF is dirty 10K later I'll yank the thing and use it only in limited situations or at the track. I did an oil test with my Mustang 5 years ago with a K&N and the results were not good. They even found traces of that red oil in the sample. My "fine particles" or silicon content was over 10x's higher than normal. I wish someone made a dryflow higher flow filter but I couldn't find one.

My Stang is supercharged and I was using a K&N when that incident happened to me on the hwy. A buddy of mine said a S/C Stang will suck up allot of air so maybe that was the reason. I've found bees and once a cigerette butt stuck in that filter after driving the hell out of that car. For my new 4L Ranger, I'm thinking the little truck won't draw anywhere near that kind of air on a N/A motor. I'm looking into a cat-back exhaust system and an electric fan then a SCT Programmer. So far I'm loving this little truck.

Does anyone have any dyno proof of any mods? More air in plus better exhaust flow usually gives more power, but sometimes more top end power comes at the expense of a loss of torque (which I don't want). For now I'll try the same mods that worked so well on the Mustangs ie. Electric Fan, UD Pulleys, SCT Programmer and maybe a 4.10 gear.
