High pitch whine

I have been hearing a high pitch whine. I have read all the threads on the topic and I'm still lost.

It happens when i have just started to accelerate around 3000 rpm.

Its almost like i can control the sound, if i push down on the gas pedal while driving i can hear the noise.
(example: going 60 MPH, accelerate and i can hear the noise or at a stop light and accelerate i can also hear the noise)

When i let off the gas or maintain my speed i can not hear the noise.

I can also hear the noise if i put the truck in Neutral and push the gas pedal down

i think it is coming from under the truck, but thats as much as a can locate the sound.

I have no real knowledge on trucks and any help would be appreciated

Thanks

I have been hearing the same noise on my 3.0. It's pretty faint though and isn't consistent every time I drive. I have no clue either what it is.

Its a pulley under the hood i bet. The exact same thing happend on my old 99 ranger twice. Both times it was a pulley and both times it was the exact same things as u just described. Get a friend or someone to hit the gas while u listen under the hood.

its your fan clutch mine does it too. with your truck cut off go see if you can move your fan by hand either way if it moves then your fan clutch is still good and if it doesn't youll have to replace it bc it is bad.
