Any true dual pics?

I'm planning on doing a true dual exhaust and was wondering if anyone has any pics of theirs? I'd really like to see pics of the truck's underside and how the pipe is layed out. Thanks.

I don't think he has "TRUE" duals, I believe he has 2 pipes into one muffler and 2 pipes out again. true duals would be 2 mufflers. I think however that he is the closest to it on this site......

No, he has a DI/DO Magnaflow which has the X-pipe located inside the muffler. This is still considered true duals.

Oh ok, I always though that true duals had to have 2 mufflers.....

I dont think you'll see much if anything on a stock unmodified engine.

Thats why I haven't done it, I mean, its cool but if there is no performance gain, whats the point.....

I would do it as long as it would not HURT my performace, it would sound alot better than a SI/DO.

it will NOT hurt your performance to do it.......on a heavily modified engine (like Nick's) it helps performance.....

you also wont get much better sound out of it.....

Disclaimer: I am going to say this based on what I have read here before, not based on what I know.

It has been stated that V6's don't like the crossover pipe in the muffler, and could actually hurt performance. Are you saying this is false? *** Again, I am just stating what I have read in the past on this site......

I am actually looking to do something different with my current setup, so if this proves to not HURT performance I may go this route in the next month or so.

It wont hurt performace, you probably read that it dosent help performace like it does on the V8s.

It all depends on the size pipe and such...there is a thread on here that everyone argued about and came to a conclusion about exhaust pros and cons just gotta find it. It should explain to you.

^^^ I know its out there some where, but it was brought up again......... I wish there were some actual numbers to put to this and prove or dis-prove this once and for all....

I have read that the ranger v6 engines are even firing so the x or h pipes are pointless, but they don't hurt anything. In the end they just give you a different sound.

You can run true duals down one side and cross over in the back just like a single in dual out muffler so that isn't a problem......

well i dont know too much either about this but from what i have heard from people that the 4.0L will actually lose back pressure which would cause a lose in power at low range torque levels but would help at like higher speeds

again this is just here say!

I wish I could give you hard evidence that the true duals helps, but I have changed exhaust setups 7 times. I didnt get the chance to dyno the truck before the last setup, so I am not going to make false claims. I cannot say you will hear much of a difference in sound either, my engine is nowhere near stock. I will say one thing though, cats are a must! Even with a heavily modified 4.0, I did lose hp with the cats removed(plus it was unbearably loud!!!). I installed a set of magnaflow hi flo cats(one on each bank) and my system is 2.5in true duals. It took a long time for me to find the right setup for my taste, but I finally am satisfied.

Thats what I think too, but who knows, it seems everything I know about exhaust is disputed on this site...... It would be cool to have but I need my torque for pulling, so sorry to say, I can not be the guniea pig......

yeah sound and looks are definitely secondary to performance. I think on most true duals would be an expensive way to make your truck visible to pedestrians a lot longer, if ya know what I mean

I was talking about a crossover pipe, i.e X or H pipe.

Those are just for scavenging exhaust gasses and equaling sound for each bank. I cant see how it would really 'hurt' performace? Idk i could be wrong

If your going to put in the extra time and effort and money to do 'true dual exhaust' then you NEED to do an X-Pipe. Too many people on here say that they don't experience any power differences when they put duals on. A friend of a friends Ranger put an X pipe with no cats and magna flow mufflers. Its sounds sweet. And he noticed a power difference. Just my 2 cents
