After a year and a half project of removing my intake manifolds and replacing the gaskets and putting back together, I finally finished. It came time to start up the truck. I removed as much of the old fuel as possible and added about three gallons of fresh fuel with a heavy helping of sea foam to help clean and condition what was in there as well as the system. Truck started up and ran rough for a while which I expected based on other peoples experiences. After it was warming up a bit I noticed exhaust smoke coming from the union between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe on the drivers side. Just above the first oxygen sensor. It started getting dark so I cleaned up for the night and started researching. Sounds like there is no gasket in there. Any ideas? I thought I would try to see if the bolts would tighten a little or remove them to clean up he mating surfaces and try again.
