No idle unless i rev it

I have a 00 4.0 4x4. I have 162 on it. I have a problem when i start the engine and the idle does not idle right. It is at 600 yea 600 rpms. I can rev it sometimes and it will reset itself and idle fine. I have a couple ideas but not sure if they are right. I was thinking it was the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) or the EGR which im guessing stands for (Electronic Gas Regulator) but not postive. Does anyone have any ideas if these assumsions are correct? Please help so i can fix it this W/e. Thanks Steve Martin.

It could be the IAC valve. BTW what is wrong with 600 rpm? I set mine to idle at 550 rpm.

Sounds like you have a sticking IAC or vaccum leak.

The IAC valve is located on the side of the throttle body.
