The stock hp stock on the 4.0 SOHC is 207. With a tuner you should be able to put up around 220ish maybe a little more.

13 HP from just a tuner, I highly doubt that. Maybe once you do a few dyno runs and tune it to your own truck maybe but not from the tunes that come with it.

Throttle body spacers do nothing for our trucks, whatever you thought you felt was all in your mind. The Jet chips suck compared to the xcal

Something not worth spending $400 of my cash for 13 hp. That's why I have my powerstroke! 100hp off my Edge chip!

13hp =

The xcal from Doug is one of the best mods you can buy. Especially, if you already have done the intake and exhaust. You will absolutely "feel" a difference. Plus, you`ll have the tuner to adjust for future mods like tires, gears, etc.

I've heard that people like them and I've also heard people that say its not worth it and they regret buying it. Do some more research before you drop all that money

13HP with a stock vehicle is EASY to get with a tuner. The OEM calibration is set safe enough as all engines are built just a little bit different. Furthermore, you can run 3 different cars that are the exact same vehicle (say only different color) and get different power curve results, even in the same environment.(I've done this time, and time again)

Also, don't forget that many OEM's detune to meet different requirements.

I don't know how many things the X-Cal can adjust, but it would be by far the best investment for a novice to buy and learn to use to make performance enhancments. (I only use laptop software.)

The tuning software cost more than the tuner itself does.

id almost be willing to say more and if you dont have the knowledge to properly tune your truck dont mess with it you will regret it.....

If I drop 400 on a turner i want a few things like being able to adjust tire size, gear ratio, read and clear trouble code, later on if I buy a supercharger or intake ect, I want to be able to tune for that WITHOUT having to buy the extra downloads. In other words I want to be able to make a one time purchase and never have to pay for add on tunes for the future mods on my truck.....can the x-cal fulfill my needs?

yup, i can do every bit of that with mine, i dont download mine i go to a tuner locally and he re-tunes it for me either with the laptop in my truck using the x-band or on the dyno, your not going to get your full potential with a download and ill pay to get a re-tune.....a one time purchase is impossible unless your very very good with sct tuning its just inevitable, you may not need to get tuned after every mod but something like a supercharger you need to realize that you will need to commit some money for tuning cause god forbit your air to fuel is crappy like some of the ***** stories ive been reading.....

I would highly recommend doing that as well, you'll get a more specific tune for your truck that way too.
