If its not one thing its another....I need advice.
I have a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge Super FX2 4.0 SOHC.
The other day my engine started to rough idel.I drove it to Advance Auto to have the codes checked and when I exited the truck water was pouring from it.Needless to say the Thermostat housing was leaking. The code was read while I was there and it was #4 misfire.I replaced the Thermostat housing. It was still rough ideling and then i noticed water coming out the tail pipes.I read some threads here on the fourm about the #4 misfire and found out the head gasket blew.I replaced the Head gasket and all the other stuff needed for the job for the left side of the engine.replaced the oil and filter.now when I start the engine there is clatter from both of valve covers.I did not mess with the right side at all and the clatter was not there before.I did not do any adjustments to the valves, lifters, cam or the timing chain. So what could be making this new clatter that was not there before i replace the haed gasket? Oil pressure gauge reads normal.
