coolant dumped.. 4.0 sohc

FONT="Microsoft Sans Serif"][/FONT]

okay, well today i was driving to get some food and go to class. I went to get the food no big deal. left and got maybe a mile from my school. i notice smoke coming out my rear end. thought it was my rear end... thought @@#$$$##$#$.. but no, it was my coolant. get to school and the truck has lost abunch of collant. not sure on where it was coming from. the whole engine is coverd in coolant. not sure on where it was coming from. there was some still in the resivor, but not much. i checked it when i first stopped. it was little less than half way.. went to check it again and it had dropped again. any ideas on where to look what to look for. It should be either dried up by now or the truck caught fire and i wont have to worry with it...

it could be from anywhere, blown hose, loose cap, hole in the radiator, effed up water pump, blown head gasket, blown intake gasket. it could be a million different things. let it cool down and dry off than start the truck, let it get to temp and than watch fro leaks. not much else we can tell you without seeing it or a better description

Check the themostat housing and the nearby hoses. Theres a heater hose behind the thermostat and a bypass hose below it. Check it out carefully. Easy to replace. May as well replace the thermostat if you're wrenching around there. Give ALL the hoses a thorough check and check the water pump for leakage as well.
