Clutch Issues

I had an issue with my clutch on my 95 4.0 5 speed on the way to work the other day. The clutch just got softer and softer until I had to speed shift. I put some Dot 3 fluid in the cylinder and pumped it and filled it again and it seems to be shifting and running fine. Does this mean I'm going to have to replace my clutch or maybe slave cylinder?? Or is it the throw out? Thanks in advance.
