Need Intake Help!
Well, took the truck out today and put it threw its paces, sorry no during pics, but im going out again tomorrow so ill get some then!
anyway, im driving along, and going threw everything i see. the truck takes it without a hickup. only have to get into 4wd once. So, everytime i go threw a 'puddle' my wife cringes.. Again, nothing.. truck gets through it easily.. The one time my wife goes, OH go threw there!, i almost dround my truck..
As Soon as you hit the edge of the water, you DROP about 1-2 feet.. THen it keeps dropping to about 3-4 feet.. Scared the living **** out of me, i luckily hit my brakes soon enough that i didnt get too deep.. the water was almost to the top of my front bumper.. all you double lifted guys with 35's know how high that is lol..
Long story short, i decided to try and back out instead of trying to make it through it.. had to pop it into 4low to get it over the limestone shelf.. God i love my BFG MT's! lol..
Anyways, got it out of the water, popped the hood and checked everything.. the entire engine was SOAKED.. the air filter was pretty wet, luckily nothing happend..
So, what can i do? i have an aftermarket intake setup.. stock tube, just aftermarket filter and such, dont have the stock air box anymore..
Any advice would be great guys.. i want to know that i can get through this kind of stuff. i HATE being limited to what i can drive into because of the worry that im going to suck in water.
