head bolt question

hey, i'm in he process of putting headgaskets on my 93 ranger. just started putting it back together and was curiious which if any of the head bolts need sealer. i have them all in with oil on the threads and under the heads and torqued to the first stage. i figured i could pull them one at a time and put sealer on them if it is required if someone knew exactly which ones need it. none of the articles i find on head gasket replacements on these engines specifically talk about sealant so i am wondering if any need it.

also having a hard time finding the official torque spec for the rocker shaft. i have found a spec of 50 ft/lb and wonder if that is correct

These are new bolts right? I see no sealant listed in this step, these are pulled from a ford shop manual for 99.

µ 5. CAUTION:
Do not reuse the cylinder head bolts. They are torque-to-yield. Reuse of the cylinder head bolts may cause damage to the engine.

Install the bolts.

l Tighten the bolts in sequence in three steps:

1 Tighten to 65 Nm (48 lb-ft).

2 Tighten to 80-85 Nm (59-62 lb-ft).

3 Tighten an additional 80-85 degrees.

µ 2. Install the rocker arm shaft assembly and tighten in two steps:

1 Tighten to 30-34 Nm (22-25 lb-ft).

2 Tighten an additional 90 degrees.

The manual doesn't say new bolts for the rockers, i was just referring to the heads bolts.

The rockers will not see the same stress as the head bolts will so I doubt the need to replace them. If they are a reasonable price and the wait doesn't effect you much then buy new.
