Mpg??

I have looked through the search. And I cant find anybody with a 91 ranger 4.0 5 speed 2wd. What should I expect out of this truck? The truck sat for a year. I started it up. ran some fuel cleaner through it, and I got 160 miles before I ran out. I have gave it a complete tune up. Spark plug everything. Oil everything. Im fixing to do the fuel filter. Havnt ran it dry, yet. My problem is my gas gauge dont work. So i dont want to run out going to work or sumthing so I keep puttin 10$ here and 10$ there, just to make sure. My grandpa the one I got it from said he got 300 to 350 miles on a tank. He mostly drove highway, but still when I ran out at 150 miles I was pretty confused. Im sure its doing better now that I changed everything. But I was wondering what to expect out of it. Also wondering whats the most common problem with gas gauge stop working. When I get time im going to pull the bed and check the float and see if its stuck. But any ideas?

Thanks!

dont drive so fast, you are gonna hear that a lot, if you want to dump the money into it, do an intake, underdog pullies, e-fan, tonneau cover and all that good stuff.

If it hasnt had a tune up in a while, do the basics like plugs, wires and such. They say by changing the fluids to some brand...forgot what...that you can gain about 1-2mpg increase.

In reality you'd save more money by not doing any of the mods haha, thats because you only gain 1-5mpg at most from all the mods....but i do it because i love to work on my truck and its fun...so just up to you is all.

Yeah. I try not to drive so fast. lol. I have done all of my tune-up I can do. Performace is what I dont have. I love workin on stuff and I love to add to it. I planned on doing a intake for it. I didnt know about the rest of that. This may sound dumb to you guys but what is a tonneau cover? Im sorry guys. Ive never owned a truck before. I was big into sports cars. I had a V6 1.8L with 350hp, and still got 30mpg. Im not used to this Low mpg stuff, or even trucks at that. So Ill be a guy with alot of questions. If I cant find it in the search first.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of car did you own that had a 1.8L V6?

So basicly this is going to cost around 2 grand to do these parts. Thats not bad at all. What kind of a gain would I get from these items? Also, what do you mean when you say eco-car?

Ha Ha. That I would never do! I hate honda with a passion!! Its a Mazda rival. Like Chevy is to Ford. Plus Hondas are sh** cars for the most part.
