Gonna put in Dereks old wet-setup? If so ( and I say this from experience and too much toying around ) I have a few extra manifolds you can have ( they puddle really bad ) .

3.55's kill your 'off the line' launch. On the top end they leave you enough room to get good top gear speed.. but your playing 'catch up' to everything on the road.
The 3.73's are a happy medium. You have mid to upper rpm's which the SOHC likes and as long as your not running on offroad tires that are like 30+inches , you can get a wide power band to the ground in a pretty quick time.
I can understand your perspective as your ride is lifted and has some tires that could probably crunch a volkswagon under them so a low gear is needed to reduce resistence and get those bigguns rolling.
