2004 ranger 4.0 suputtering under load
Here's the short story..I have a 2004 4.0 that used to have a blower strapped to the motor till it went BOOM! Now I have a nice new rebuilt motor and wanted to go back to stock. Problem is now its a hybrid rats nest of wires, tubes and plugs and rigs from the PO and the indy shop that put my truck back together. I DO NOT want to go back to the shop and just want to put everything back as close as possible to stock form. Im sure that my problem that I am having now is due to a faulty ERG, PCV valve or the DPFE sensor or all. I would hope that you more seasoned mechanically inclined people to check out this mess under my hood and make some suggestions on what to do.
Its really hard to photograph, but One thing that really is stumping me is that there is this port on the passenger side of the intake manifold, behind the water hose, that has a spark plug stuffed in it, guessing it didn't leave the factory that way and I cant seem to find what its for. I'm no expert wrencher but not afraid to learn, I just cant keep going back to these indy shops or dealers anymore... I cant tolerate the hustle any longer..
Please help me educate myself!! Thanks

Bigger battery cables are nice but a bit of over-kill size wise.
In 10th picture down you have an open vacuum port(I assume), but don't recognize the device.
Picture 6 shows a metal elbow on a heater hose, that should be removed and heater hose should just be run directly, it was probably used for blower, and shop just stuck elbow in instead or rerunning hose.
Did see the "spark plug" stuffed into the hole, but is it screwed in or just pushed in?
If it is screwed in it may be for computers ECT sensor, should be a two wire connector near-by not being used.
Cruise control cable is unhooked :)
EGR and PCV issues are usually rough idle related to start with.
Acceleration issues are usually fuel pressure related, because of air/fuel mix, but could be MAF sensor or O2 sensor related for the same reason.
