Just bought this truck HELP!

Ok bought a 94 B4000 LE Cab Plus 140k miles for $1800. Couple of things I knoticed.... oil pressure guage doesnt move from the spot it moves to after you start it, valve cover gaskets are leaking, passanger side window works but at the top it starts clicking, unlock bottom the drivers side doesnt work, ,and the biggest thing that almost made me not buy it when you punch it it has NO power and it randomly (when floored) makes a tapping sound like the valve lash is out... or like it has really bad gas in it... Also where can I download for free the service manual.

Heres a video of the guages you can see the temp guage look like its about to start over heating then it drops way down and the oil pressure doesnt move.

YouTube - 94 B4000 problems

When I punch it on the freeway from 75 it boggs and slows down. AND I have check engine ligt codes

111
158
186
332
337
543

Also the tranny fluid is about 4 inches over the full line.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The oil pressure gauge isn't supposed to move. Mine jumps to the middle when i start it up, and stays there no matter how long i drive. The window getting to to the top and clicking is probably just because the solenoid won't disengage for some reason. can be fixed but its easer just to let go of the button.

could also be a broken tooth on the arm that rolls up the window

The flooring it and having no power.
My 01 Focus did that recently. Would put the pedal to the floor in 4th or 5th gear at 55-60 mph and the car would not pick up any speed. It also took a long time to get up to highway speed. Ended up being a bad Cat converter. Might be worth checking.

yea its worth checking the cat...also try running some fuel injector cleaner and 93 octane gas there might be some carbon build up and/or bad gas in it...try doing a tune up too

https://www.ranger-forums.com/f13/i-...e-codes-58160/

Check the links in post #2. for the codes.

As for losing power when you floor it at 75 , I would suspect the Throttle Position Sensor.
Use the search button for that and in a couple of the many threads the is a procedure for checking/adjusting it.May take you a while to find it though.

Also make sure you're checking your trans fluid with the truck running and warmed up.

trans is over filled, drain some out ASAP, over full auto trans can blow seals and transmissions right quick...

that ticking that sounds like lash adjusters, sounds like pinging, probably linked to your lack of power

temp guage going up high then dropping, sounds like you are low on coolant, my mustang used to do that, heater would blow ice cold when it did that too...

oil pressure sensor, it jumping to the middle and staying there, means it's working right...

valve cover gasget, get a new one...

window, like other people said, the crank is probably worn, pull it off and take a look at the back, you could fix it, but buying a new one from a jy is probably cheaper

unlock button could be a thousand things, pull the door pannel and see if the wires are connected...

Drained the tranny down to full line and it still wont shift into 4th. In the middle of the ford recommended fix for the pinging oh and it only pings between 1/2 and 3/4 throttle. I filed the coolant to full when I got it but your right its low again... so a leak too.
