If all you want is sound get a Flowmaster. This is what 99% of people will tell you. If you want performance, get a Magnaflow. I love the sound of the Magnaflow but most people want loud...

At this point you really should introduce yourself in the introduction forum and fill out a signature. Also do a search for "flowmaster" or "exhaust" and read what's already been posted. We love to help, but answering the same questions multiple times gets frustrating. Welcome to the board.

just wait and see the monster you just awoke.

youve got three main choices: borla, magnaflow, and flowmaster.

i believe borlas sound best on v8s as my dad has that on his. magnaflow is a straight through design so i believe there is loss in low end torque(i may be wrong about this).
flowmaster is what i have on mine. i love it and wouldnt trade it.

either way, if you get custom piping that isnt crimp bent then you will have a system that is better then factory. most people would reccomend a single inlet/dual outlet system.

i have a single in dual out flowmaster 40 series with 2.25 inch pipes and 3 inch tips and its wonderful... it has a very deep sound to it... i have not noticed any torque loss but speed is not my main concern

I'll have to add a vote for flowmaster 40 series delta. Had mine installed single in (2.5) dual out (2.25) last wednesday and it sounds better each day. You may just want to search "exhaust" like Shalafi49 said. You'll find a lot of threads on this and will find a lot of people's opinions.

A Borla Turbo Series with 2.5" pipes and 3.5" tips straight out the back will be going on my truck soon. I've got a video of Leo's old truck with this set-up and it sounds AWESOME. Email me if you want me to send it to you. I think you'll know which one to choose ;-)

D.

what truck was this setup on? when i had my magnaflow it just seemed like there was nothing untill like 2500rpms. and now with my flowmaster it does feel restricted more than the magnaflow but not alot.

well its restriced enought that i cant get it to go above 5700 rpms but when i had my magnaflow it was a different story.

both magnaflow and flowmaster have there pluses, its just whatever you want.

^ do you have the dyno charts to show this. I clocked my truck at .4 of a second quicker to 60 when I put my Flow on. (average of 4 runs)

A guy at my school dynoed his ram with a flow and gained 16 hp and 11 lb ft of torque. He has the dyno sheet of it as well.

I'd just like to see these facts instead of people insisting them from the butt dyno. I've seen flow charts showing that flowmaster will flow about twice as much over stock mufflers. Anyone have some charts/sheets to show this stuff?

You got to consider.

I bet the ram was a v8 right? Big difference from a 4liter v-6

Thing with most people is, big pipes. Duals and what not, more piping = less backpressure. Less backpressure = less tq.

.4 seconds quicker eh? Was that the butt dyno and a stop watch? Or did you actaully measure this with a gtech?

I was the same, couldnt handle the fact that just because i made my truck louder. And put some piping on it, and spent the money to do it. Means its faster.
