Summit Racing SUM-890015 - Summit Racing® Electric Fan Thermostat Kits - Overview - SummitRacing.com is this something that i could use to put in my truck for a efan??

i wouldnt mess with an e-fan they dont last as long but offer a tad bit more power.

The fan that you posted a link for is on the small size. I would jump up to a 16" fan atleast, that should be enough to cool your truck. As for the controller, that is more preference than anything. You can get them with adjustable thermostats, set temperatures as you have posted and some people just run them off a switch.

 

Don't throw your money away. An E-fan will not come close to the cooling capacity of your mechanical fan/clutch, and will be far less reliable.

 

you can get a e-fan off a 01 ranger 2.3l that will bolt in using a factory fan shrod

 

I like them, but you need to buy a really good one, nothing cheap or inadequate. That fan probably wont cut it. I would run a becool or a SPAL fan if it was me. There are a few others too that are good. I went through 2-3 $100 fans in one summer, then finally bought a good one and it worked well. Then I had wiring issues and burnt up a relay. After that I gave up and went back to mechanical.

Now I cant run a mechanical so I am going to buy the best fan I can afford and wire it up with a good controller. Its the only way it can be done and reliable.
