just purchased an 07 quad cab fx4 with an 4.0 SOHC with 27k miles. I have always been a ranger man. would like to know what upgrades would help with exhaust sound, and gas mileage. I really like the MBRP exhaust has anyone had problems with them?

i know a few people with the MBRP Turndown exhaust and they like it.
as for gas mileage, either get a tuner or keep your foot off the gas

 

There is no solution for the gas mileage problem. It is what it is. A tuner will help a little, but the best advice to drive like a grandma.

 

Getting a tuner lowered my MPG. It runs so much better that I just want to drive it faster.

 

Electric fan vs belt driven fan frees up a few horse power, maybe small increase in MPG.

Working EGR system allows computer to run a bit leaner so better MPG.

Making sure engine coolant is up at 200-220degF that where it gets best MPG.
